My Books

One book that I have read this quarter is a book called "Notes from the Midnight Driver" by Jordan Sonnenblick. This book is a comedy and realistic fiction book. This book is about Alex Gregory. When Alex was in 3rd grade. He's dad cheated on his mom with his 3rd grade teacher. So when Alex is 16 and his mom was out on a date night he got drunk. His plan was go to his dad's house and yell at him for everything he had put his mom and him through. But he didn't even get to the end of the block until he crashed his mom's car. Instead of jail time Alex had to do 100 hours at a nursing home. He was assigned to an elderly man by the name of Sol. Sol is an very hard person to work with so the rest of the book is mostly about their journey together. There is also love in this book, very cliche. One of my favorite quotes from this book is "You'll learn one day that real apologies don't come with a but in the middle." I really like this quote because it is so relatable. People now a days will apologies but always have an excuse.

A nonfiction book I have read this quarter is a book about welfare. Welfare is when financial support is given to those in need. This book taught me a lot of things but I personally did not like it. I found it very dull and slow. Although it was very boring I did get a little out of it.
