Milk and Honey

The book I read is called Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. This book is a poetry collection. The book is split into four sections. Each section is based off a part of the author's life. The first section is "The Hurting". The hurting talks more about her childhood and all the things she's been through and how it made her feel. The next section is the "The Loving". This chapter talks about how she falls in love and how happy he makes her feel. Then it's the section called "The Hurting" which is personally my favorite section. It talks abut how heartbroken she is when her and her boyfriend break up or when they ague. The last section is called "Th Healing". This section is also my favorite part. It talks about how she is healing from everything bad that has happened in her life. Milk and Honey has a lot of imagery that will make you wanna cry or smile. I will put picture of some of my favorite quotes from this book at the bottom.

Dinner Dance

Last night, May 25, was my school's 8th grade dinner dance. I had so much fun. My friends and I were all singing, dancing, and laughing together all night. We were all fancied up with our makeup and hair done. Then after the dinner dance my friend had a party bus and it was super fun too. We all got into our feelings and sang our hearts out. I made so many amazing memories. It was definitely a night to remember.
All though I had lots of fun with my friends, I couldn't help feeling sad. I was sad because exactly a week from yesterday I will be graduating. I am going to a different high school then all of my friends. I have been with these people for years and now I have to start all over again in high school. It's just going to be hard to not be able to see my friends as often but I'm also excited to start this new chapter in my life. Hardships like this are what help us develop into young adults.

People Come & Go

In our lifetime we have a lot of people exit and enter our lives. Everyone in your life has a purpose. They can be a blessing and be placed in your life to love you. Usually these people are your family or best friends. These people will love you and make life so much better for you. If they're not a blessing then they're a lesson. This are the people that usually exit your life. Maybe it's a boyfriend/girlfriend or an ex-friend. Whenever they exit your life or do something to hurt you, you always learn something from it. It's different for everyone and for each situation. But no matter how many people exit your life, always remember that the right ones always stay. So to be concise, people come and go. Don't be dwell over someone for so long because everything happens for a reason.

Don't Up With Those Who Are Reckless With You're Heart

You shouldn't put up with people who are reckless with your heart. If they can lie straight to your face like i's was nothing, don't put up with them. A relationship is built on trust and if they keep lying to you time after time, there's just no point. If they can break your heart time after time after you keep forgiving them, don't put up them. Protect your heart, don't give it someone who doesn't deserve it. At this point they are just taking your kindness for granted.  People take advantage of those with a good heart, and that's what makes the good turn into bad. It's like a whole cycle. Someone, either it's a boy or girl, hurts someone else. Then that person hurts someone else. This isn't always the case but it's sad how it actually does happen now a days.
You are worth so much more than letting a person you don't need walk all over you. One, because it makes you look foolish. Two, it's just a waste of your time. And three, the more you go back to those who are reckless with your heart the more you end up hurting yourself.  Each time you go back you will lose a piece of yourself, as cliche as that sounds it's true. If you keep forging and taking back this person this will never earn that what they are doing is wrong. So they will keeping doing it to you and others. Trust me, I know it's hard to let go of those we claim we love but you can do it. Save yourself the heart ache and never be the reckless one.

Lord of the Flies

The book I read is Lord of the Flies by William Golding. This book is a novel and it's genre is fiction. In this book a planed carrying only schoolboys crashed on a deserted island. The pilot died but many of the schoolboys survived the crashed. They started their own form of government. They named a leader. Everything was going well until one of the kids started having nightmares about a beast on the island. Everyone said that it wasn't true until others stated saying that they heard or saw the beast.
Personally I did like this book. I liked all the adventure and suspense it had in it. At first I thought the beginning of the book was very boring but towards the middle the book started to get even better. It started to catch my attention more. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Fear can't hurt you anymore than a dream." I rally like this quote because it's so true. Fear always drags a person down because they're scared of getting hurt but fear is just something in your head. It can't physically hurt you.
I suggest this book to people who like adventure books. It's also a quick read; it's not that long of a book. You have to have a bit of patience at the beginning of the book because it does go slower. The book also has a good sense of humor.

Life is Beautiful

The movie, Life is Beautiful, is a really good movie. It is about the life of a Jewish man and his family before, after, and during the Holocaust. I think this was a really touching movie because the dad always gave some type of hope. He was always trying to be positive and he has such a creative imagination. His imagination made the experience of the Holocaust so much better for his son. He makes it seem like it's all one big game, and that if they win they'all get to go back to their normal lives. He sacrificed his life so that his son could stay alive.
There were a lot of things you could compare between the movie and the and the real life Hlolocaust. The movie shows at people in concentration camps actually went through. For example, Jews were put into gas chambers in the movie and in real life. The way they were treated by the Nazis is the same, they were treated very poorly.
The mood/tone of Life is Beautiful is hopeful. I think hopeful is mood and tone because again of the dad. He always found a way to make the experience of the concentration camps easier for his son and wife. He would lighten the mood with his humor.

Favorite Quotes

I thought that for this blog I would share some of my favorite quotes. These are just some quotes that I think are motivational, relatable, or even just cute. I will explain why I like these quote and what they mean to me but like my blog buddy Abby once said, everyone has their own interpretation of these quotes.

I like this quote because I believe it's better to attempt something and fail then to be stick where I am longer then I have to be. I hope that a year from now, I am not stuck on the same things that are dragging me down now. I am determined to keep trying until I don't fail anymore.

I think this quote is so important. People think that just because others don't want the same thing or see things the same, that they're wrong. Everyone has different goals in their life and different ways of getting there. No one has the same mind set. Just because it's not your way of thinking, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Right now, I feel like I can really relate to this quote. Sometimes a person just means so much to you that you think to yourself maybe it's worth them constantly hurting you. They don't deserve your forgiveness yet you care about them so much that you give it to them anyways.

Nowadays, looks are so important to people but there is so much more to that. I'm not gonna lie, looks are a big part but it shouldn't be the main focus. The person should make you laugh and treat you right.

I think this is my favorite quote. I love the metaphor this quote used, it was a really cute way of getting the message apart. This quote means that before you succeed, you fail. You have to go through a lot of obstacles before you get to where you really want to be.
