The movie, Life is Beautiful, is a really good movie. It is about the life of a Jewish man and his family before, after, and during the Holocaust. I think this was a really touching movie because the dad always gave some type of hope. He was always trying to be positive and he has such a creative imagination. His imagination made the experience of the Holocaust so much better for his son. He makes it seem like it's all one big game, and that if they win they'all get to go back to their normal lives. He sacrificed his life so that his son could stay alive.
There were a lot of things you could compare between the movie and the and the real life Hlolocaust. The movie shows at people in concentration camps actually went through. For example, Jews were put into gas chambers in the movie and in real life. The way they were treated by the Nazis is the same, they were treated very poorly.
The mood/tone of Life is Beautiful is hopeful. I think hopeful is mood and tone because again of the dad. He always found a way to make the experience of the concentration camps easier for his son and wife. He would lighten the mood with his humor.
I thought that for this blog I would share some of my favorite quotes. These are just some quotes that I think are motivational, relatable, or even just cute. I will explain why I like these quote and what they mean to me but like my blog buddy Abby once said, everyone has their own interpretation of these quotes.
I like this quote because I believe it's better to attempt something and fail then to be stick where I am longer then I have to be. I hope that a year from now, I am not stuck on the same things that are dragging me down now. I am determined to keep trying until I don't fail anymore.
I think this quote is so important. People think that just because others don't want the same thing or see things the same, that they're wrong. Everyone has different goals in their life and different ways of getting there. No one has the same mind set. Just because it's not your way of thinking, doesn't mean it's wrong.
Right now, I feel like I can really relate to this quote. Sometimes a person just means so much to you that you think to yourself maybe it's worth them constantly hurting you. They don't deserve your forgiveness yet you care about them so much that you give it to them anyways.
Nowadays, looks are so important to people but there is so much more to that. I'm not gonna lie, looks are a big part but it shouldn't be the main focus. The person should make you laugh and treat you right.
I think this is my favorite quote. I love the metaphor this quote used, it was a really cute way of getting the message apart. This quote means that before you succeed, you fail. You have to go through a lot of obstacles before you get to where you really want to be.
We are currently in the month of May, which means this is the last month of school, which means my last month of middle school. This makes me feel kind of sad. Sad because I'm going to a different high school then most of my friends. I have made so many amazing memories with a lot of people at my school. I have my best friends in this school, some that I have been with for 10 years now. I'm scared that I'm going to fade away from those I love. But if it's a true friendship, it will never die out. It's kind of hard to comprehend that suddenly everything is going to change. Besides that, I'm happy to finally get out of middle school and start a new chapter of my life. Beginnings usually make me feel really anxious. Anxious because you never know what to expect. Beginnings are also exciting because beginnings bring a lot of new good stuff. I this case, high school is bring new friends and so much more freedom. What I mean by freedom is to go out to hang out with my friends more, maybe stay out a little later. I found a quote that I feel connects to this blog. It is by Matthew E. Fryer, it says, "With every roadblock, a detour is built. With every ending, a new beginning is defined. Embracing a challenge make life interesting, nut overcoming it makes life meaningful." This quote says that every beginning has something hard about it but getting past those hardships is what makes it so special.
One of my all time favorite singers is Shawn Mendez. I love how slow yet upbeat his songs are. Also, his voice is so smooth and beautiful. I cannot emphasize enough how much his music means to me. I started to listen to Shawn back when he was in Magcon, since then I've been hooked on him. Whenever I'm upset or I need something to relax to, I always turns to Shawn's music. In the rest of the blog I am going to show you 5 Shawn Mendes songs that I like.
5. Life of the Party
This song is Shawn's very first EP. Before this song, Shawn was always only doing covers on YouTube. I was so proud of him for this song, it was a great first original. I love this song because the background music is just so great. It starts off slow and steady and then get more upbeat but yet it stays slow.
4. Imagination
I love this song because the mixture of his voice and the guitar go perfectly together. His voice sounds so lovely in this song. It surprises me how high his voice can go. Also, for some reason I feel like I can relate to this song. At this age, it's hard to explain to someone your feelings for them. But this song just seems to explain it perfectly.
3. A Little Too Much
I feel like everyone can relate to this song at one point in their lives. The lyrics basically say that even though life can be a handful sometimes everything will eventually get heart. The lyrics are just really positive and up lifting. Plus, his voice sounds so heavenly in this song.
2. Memories
This song is one of my favorite Shawn Mendes songs. It's about him missing this one person and realizing everything they had are now memories. Even though this is a love song, I look at it as me missing a family member that passed away. This family member was very close to me and all I have left of them is memories. The beat of the song is also really good, especially at the chorus.
1. Roses
This is my all time favorite Shawn Mendes song. This song is a little more upbeat than the rest of the songs I have listed. But I really love the beat to this, and his voice is incredible. I know I've said that a lot through out this blog, but it's true.
This year on Earth Day I participated in Earth Day Pick Up Day. What Pick Up Day basically is when people come together to clean up their community. For example, they can pick trash in parks, they can help plant a tree, or help on the community garden. What me and my friends did was we vististed two different parks, Proksa and Sunshine Park. We cleaned up any trash at the park and on our way to the park.
Earth Day is important to me because once this planet is gone it's gone. What I mean by this, once our Earth is polluted and filled with trash there is nothing we can do. Every year the environment is getting worse and worse. Due to global warming, pollution, and littering. So it's important for us to do everything we can to keep our Earth clean and healthy.
It's important for it to be celebrated because then it gets more attention from the people. The more people know about Earth Day and why it's important to the environment, the more they'll be inspired to help. Earth Day is kinda of an advertisement on how people should take care of the environment, and how they shouldn't litter.
Some things we could do to honor Earth Day in the future I suggest we have more events like Pick Up Day but instead of only students it should be everyone. Everyone should come out and help clean up the community. It actually is really fun, especially when you're friends and family.
Something I regret doing is quitting every sport or activity I've ever joined. When I was little I was in a lot of things. Soccer, swimming, balle, and so many other things. If I would have never quit any of those sports I could've been so great at them right now. Also, high schools and colleges look at sports a lot so that could've helped me get into a good high school. I makes me feel mad because maybe I could've have been more athletic. If I could go back and change it I would have stayed in those sports. I think the reason I gave up on the spots was because they were hard. I should preserved through it. So if I could undo quitting sports, I would
