There were a lot of things you could compare between the movie and the and the real life Hlolocaust. The movie shows at people in concentration camps actually went through. For example, Jews were put into gas chambers in the movie and in real life. The way they were treated by the Nazis is the same, they were treated very poorly.
The mood/tone of Life is Beautiful is hopeful. I think hopeful is mood and tone because again of the dad. He always found a way to make the experience of the concentration camps easier for his son and wife. He would lighten the mood with his humor.
We watched this movie in class too! I also loved it. I didn't know there was a book. I would love to read it sometime!
